Once there was a funny elephant. He woke up one morning to find his bag of peanuts was empty. This was a mystery, and this was bad! He started to look, but then his owner from the circus came.
“Why are you looking so sad Eliza the Elephant,” the owner asked. “I can help you get fit instead of looking for a bad bag of peanuts that aren’t helping you to be a fit elephant.”
Eliza thought to herself, “He’s one to talk. He’s fatter than a chipmunk’s cheeks!” But she had no choice but to go and practice her routine with the other elephants. This was so annoying.
All the elephants agreed with her that they did not like this routine, they did not like the owner, and on and on… But they never found a way to escape.
Then one day, the owner’s niece Greta came to visit. She loved the elephants the most of any animals in the circus, and she thought her uncle was a grumpy old meany. Could this be good?
Greta was very sad that her own uncle would ever abuse animals. So, she decided to help the elephants. Even though it pained her, she decided to call the police and report animal abuse. One day the police came in disguise. They watched the training and decided the animals were being abused, too.
So, the next morning the police came with an official piece of paper that said “The Circus is Closed by Order of Animal Welfare.” The chief of police explained, “You don’t give the elephants peanuts. You make then practice everyday. And, you say mean things to them. Elephants are very sensitive, and they need to have owners who love them.” The owner was so upset, he let out a ferocious “Roaaar!!!” like a lion.

The policemen transferred the elephants and all the other animals in the circus to a farm, an aquarium and a zoo. The animals love their new homes and they thrived with love and care.
As for the circus owner? With his circus closed, he had to look for a new job. Unfortunately, there weren’t very many job listings and the only work he could get was working at the dump surrounded by stinky trash and seagulls that made fun of him all day.
